Dorothy A. Odom, 95, a native and resident of Citronelle, Alabama passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 25, 2017. She was a member of Citronelle United Methodist Church. Dot worked as a merchandiser and sales associate for Andrews Hardware Company for over 54 years. She won several national awards for special displays. Dot was well known in the community as she had been a member of the Citronelle Rescue Unit, Citronelle Ladies Golf Association, Citronelle Garden Club, Citronelle Women’s Club and other civic organizations. Dot was always interested in the welfare of others and graciously assisted those in need. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Atlanta Braves in her spare time. Dot was preceded in death by her great grandparents, John Louis and Mary Caroline (Lott) Platt and William Jefferson and Missouri Walker; grandparents, John Daniel and Nina Agnes (Platt) Walker; parents, George Underwood and Netta (Walker) Odom. Left to cherish her memory are her favorite cousin, Tommy Odom (Patsy); longtime friends, Bruce Andrews (Jeanie), Judy DeVore, Eunice Odom and Lois Tanner; numerous other relatives and friends. The visitation will be from 10am until the 11am funeral service on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Citronelle United Methodist Church with Rev. Marcus Hobbs and Rev. John Coghlan officiating.
