In Loving Memory of Alan M. Butler October 30, 1937 – October 24, 2025
Alan M. Butler passed away peacefully at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center on October 24, 2025, just days shy of his 88th birthday. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and unwavering love that will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew him.
Alan began working at the age of 11, before child labor laws were in place, and never missed a beat. His dedication carried him through many years as a regional manager for National Food Store, where he was admired for his tireless work ethic, kind spirit, and leadership. Later in life, Alan brought joy to the community of Citronelle through his beloved Christmas Tree Farm, creating cherished memories for countless families. His passion for growing crops and nurturing life extended far beyond the soil — his green thumb and righteous heart helped cultivate love, wisdom, and warmth in those around him. A man of faith, Alan spent time serving his congregation as an elder at First Presbyterian Church of Citronelle. He deeply loved his family and treasured every moment spent with them.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Butler; his son, Sam Butler; his cherished friend, Phill Platt; and a host of loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Butler and Helen Thomas; his brother, Sammy Butler; and his son, Mark Butler. Alan’s life was a testament to perseverance, compassion, and grace. His memory will forever be a guiding light.
