Alberta M Lofton

Alberta Lofton, a resident of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Providence Hospital. She was 78 years old. Alberta loved spending time with and taking care of her family, especially her grandkids. She loved going to church and praising the Lord. Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Duggar Lofton; son, Joseph Lofton; and brothers and sisters, Tossie McDonald, James McDonald, and Betharine Weaver. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Alpha Byrd (Elvis), Virginia Allen (Jerry), and Calvin Lofton; daughter-in-law, LaSonya Lofton; grandchildren, Duggar Lofton (Cynthia), Joseph Lofton (Katey), Ray Johnson (Florence), Brandie Via, Jerry Allen (Julie), Amanda Godwin, and Nancy Bohannon (Brad); a host of great-grandchildren; special brother-in-law, Marvin Gene Lofton; special friend, Grandma Fay Bumgart; and other relatives and friends. A wake will be held for Alberta from 6pm until 9pm Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Shalom Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 11am Monday, August 23, 2021, at Shalom Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Johnson and Rev. Bobby Morton officiating. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery. The family asks that masks be worn at all times inside the church and if you are showing symptoms of illness or are within your quarantine period, please refrain from coming to the services.
