Alma Denmark Johnson passed away Friday, February 21, 2020. She was a native of Mississippi, and resided in Citronelle, Alabama her entire life where she was a lifelong member of The First Baptist Church. Alma was born to Walter and Ethel Denmark on January 18, 1923 and became a true representative of the greatest Generation…She could do anything and do it well, from cooking, to sewing, to bookkeeping, to golfing; playing as well as rating courses all over Alabama. Aside from these duties, she held every office from President to secretary in Woman's club, Garden club, and The Historical Society for over Sixty years. Alma was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, C. B. Johnson; three brothers, Willie Ray, Buford, and Hollis Denmark. She is survived by two sons, Alton (Sheron) and their two sons Mark (Carol) and Miles, Ray (Margaret) and their two sons, Brad (Tally) and Beau (Emily). Five great grandchildren, Miles Drew, Jace, Everett, Briggs and Ben; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Dr. Elbert Charpie and Rev. Marcus Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. The family wishes to thank everyone at Montrose Bay and Tammy with Kindred Hospice for the compassion and care.
