Arrie Lee Weaver

October 3, 1931 — March 10, 2026

Saraland, Alabama

Arrie Lee Weaver, age 94, of Saraland, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Arrie Lee was born in McIntosh, Alabama, on October 3, 1931, to Augusta Virginia Weaver and Melton McCall Weaver. In his earlier years, he was known for his athletic ability, his compassion for others, and his overwhelming work ethic. It was that work ethic that led him to leave high school early to drive a truck with his father.

Arrie Lee lived many lives in many ways. His independent spirit made it nearly impossible for him to work for someone else. He knew how to work hard, earn an honest living, and treat people fairly. Over the years, he drove trucks and buses, worked in construction, and, for the last 40 years, operated Weaver’s Roofing.

Arrie Lee loved people and had a compassion for all, believing that no matter what someone had done, they were always welcome around his table. It was common to find people from different families and languages around the Thanksgiving and Christmas tables, sharing food and enjoying the holidays.

None of his life endeavors would have been possible without the love of his life, Carol. For over 35 years, they lived life to the fullest as they raised Patrick Weaver (Leah), Courtney Weaver, Ashley Weaver Field (Eli), and Brittney Weaver (fiancé Brandon Morris).

Arrie Lee often spoke honestly about the regrets he carried from earlier in his life. But everything changed in June 2001, when he repented of his sins and trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Over the last two decades, he lived a life that demonstrated a love for Christ and His church. Some of the fondest memories of him were sitting in the church pew at Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church, one hand on his Bible and the other holding Carol’s hand.

The family of Arrie Lee would like to remind you that you are never too far gone to trust Jesus as your Savior, just as he did.

He was humble but strong, patient but driven, quiet but filled a room, and funny without trying. He enjoyed the simple things in life, and nothing fancy—an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger or an Alabama football game would do.

Arrie Lee is survived by his wife, Carol; his children Patrick Weaver, Courtney Weaver, Ashley Weaver Field, Brittney Weaver, children from his former relationships Regina Morris, Marilyn Martin, Christopher Weaver, Arrie Lee Weaver, Jr., Milton Weaver, Leona Cox, Cora Armstrong, Angela Martin, Tammy Blakely and Darryl Weaver; his brothers Melton Weaver, Jr. (Theresa) and Johnny; his sisters, Shirley Weant (Charles), Annie Reed, and Claudette Sherman (John); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Augusta and Melton Weaver; his daughters, Angel Weaver and Dorothy Howell; his sisters, Vera Snow, Lula Belle Henderson and Mary Ann Potts Hicks; and his brother, Rodney Weaver.

An open-casket visitation will be held Sunday, March 15, from 6:00–9:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle, Alabama. A closed-casket Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 16, at 10:00 AM at Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church in Saraland, Alabama, with interment to follow at Reed’s Chapel Cemetery in McIntosh, Alabama.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his brother-in-law, I.C. Snow, and sisters-in-law, Rose Frazier and Cindy Frazier, who visited Arrie Lee and cared for Carol through these final days. Additionally, the family would like to extend special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, particularly Tracy, Kayla, and Brandy, for the care and compassion they showed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church Missions Fund.

The family rejoices in the assurance that Arrie Lee is now in the presence of the Savior he came to trust and love. While his absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved him, his life stands as a testimony to the grace of God—that no life is beyond redemption and no one is too far gone to turn to Christ. His family will remember his hard work, his generosity, and the simple image of him sitting in a church pew with his Bible in one hand and Carol’s hand in the other. Until the day they see him again, they will carry forward the faith he found, the love he shared, and the open table he always made for others.

John 14:2-6 “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
