Emblem

Aubrey Lee Rowell, lovingly known as "Bud", passed away on May 27th, 2023 in his hometown of Citronelle, Alabama. He was a kind gentleman who will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Born on April 22nd, 1937 in Citronelle, Bud always had a talent for working with his hands. He spent most of his career as a hydraulics machinist at Universal Service Supply Company where he used his skills to help countless people.

Bud loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He and his wife, Gayther Rowell, were married for an impressive 62 years and they had two daughters together; Karmen Rowell Sellers (Tony) and Karla Rowell. He was also a proud grandfather to Nolan Rowell, Reese Rowell, Raegan Rowell, and Madison Sellers. In addition to these cherished family members, he is survived by his sister Virginia Holland and  great-grandchildren Ansleigh Parker and Daxton Niles.

Bud was a United States Army veteran who served his country with honor. Hunting and fishing were among some of the hobbies that brought him the most joy in life.

Surrounded by family at the end of his life, Bud's passing was peaceful. Although we mourn our loss of him deeply, we take comfort knowing that he has been reunited with those who have gone before him including his parents Edward and Gertrude Rowell, son Marlon, siblings June Amesbury, John Rowell, James C. Rowell, and Inez Wilkerson.

A visitation will be held at Cross Point Baptist Church in Citronelle on Wednesday, May 31st from 11:00 am until noon to allow friends and family to pay their respects. The funeral service will follow immediately afterwards at 12:00 pm also at the church. The burial service will take place at New Home Cemetery in Citronelle.

Bud's legacy will live on through the memories of his family and friends. He was a hardworking man who lived his life with integrity and kindness. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to him, but we know that his spirit will remain a part of us always.

You are encouraged to leave a message in the guestbook below to share your most precious memories, thoughts, and condolences for the family of Bud.
