Audrey Genell Byrd

Audrey Genell Byrd, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 19, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 20, 1953, Audrey was known for her sweet, loving, optimistic, fiery, and funny personality, which touched the lives of everyone around her.

Audrey cherished her family above all, and her proudest accomplishments were her daughter, Roni Lucas, and her three grandsons, Preston Lewis, Phillip Lewis, and Paul Lewis. The bond she shared with them brought her immense joy and fulfillment. She enjoyed playing Candy Crush, watching Western movies, and every moment spent with her family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

She is survived by her daughter, Roni Lucas; her grandchildren, Preston Lewis, Phillip Lewis, and Paul Lewis; her siblings, Windell Byrd and Mary "B" Byrd; along with many other relatives and friends who will miss her deeply.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Evie Byrd, as well as her siblings, Isabell Nelson, Murray Byrd, Harold Byrd, Betty Rivers, Margie Sullivan, Mason Byrd, Nettie Byrd, and Leroy Byrd; and her cousin, Clarice Lott.

The visitation for Audrey will be held on October 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM until the 3:00 PM funeral service at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Windell Byrd officiating.
