Benjamin Douglas Williams, known to many as "Uncle Duck", was a man of unwavering strength and undeniable likeability. He passed away on April 25, 2024, at the Washington County Hospital. Born on February 20, 1944, Douglas led a life filled with passion and determination.
Douglas was known for his tough spirit and kind heart. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing, and passionately cheering for the Atlanta Braves. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often seen riding his "buggy" with a smile on his face.
One of Douglas' proudest accomplishments was his family. He cherished his role as a father to Benny Williams (Jill) and Brooke Knapp (Jon). As a grandfather to Keith Williams (Katie), Chase Knapp, Karleigh Sullivan (Johnathan), Shyla Williams, and Kelcey Knapp, he found immense joy in watching the younger generations grow. Welcoming his great-grandchild Ellis Williams brought him immeasurable happiness.
In his journey to eternity, Douglas is reunited with his beloved wife, Dorothy Williams; his parents Clarence and Jamae Williams; sisters Asalene Baggett, Artis Mae Lankford, Shirley Brewer; and brother Troy Luke Williams. Their memories will forever be cherished.
Left to honor Douglas' legacy are his surviving children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, brothers Alton Williams (Gloria), Bobby Williams (Liz), special friend Lillie Dee Freeman and her family; a multitude of nieces and nephews; along with other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by his warmth and strength.
Benjamin Douglas Williams will be remembered for his remarkable spirit and unwavering love for his family. May he rest in peace knowing that he has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
