Bennett Washington Weaver

March 4, 1929 — March 30, 2022

Bennett Washington Weaver was born March 4, 1929 during the great Depression - the day Hoover took his seat. During those trying times, he dropped out of school at an early age to help his large family survive. At the age of 19, he returned to school in the sixth grade. Going against the grain never bothered BWW, because his motto was ''Nothing beats a failure but a try'' and try he did and soon thereafter, succeeded with his faith and trust in God. He married Lucile Weaver and they had three children, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren along the way. Together, they worked side by side for 66 years serving others in the community. He loved his people, and worked diligently with other leaders to give Indians a fighting chance. Even though in this life he will fight no more forever, his legacy and determination will live on in the lives of his family, friends, and students that he has touched in a very special way.
