Born on November 18, 1938, in Georgetown, South Carolina, Betty was the eldest child of Brookshire and Katherine Moore. High school sweethearts, they married in November 1957 and shared 53 years together before his death in 2010.

A woman who never met a stranger, Betty was known for always putting the needs of others first. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, and she made her home in Mobile for 53 years. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched many lives and will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Richard Warren Collier III, Bentley Moore Collier (BryAnne), Nancy Collier Minus (Jay), and Virginia Collier Farrow (Marc), all of Mobile, Alabama. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Joseph, Laura, Hunter, Matthew, Leigh, and Hannah, and her great-grandchildren, Patrick, Henry, Collier, and Bradley. She is also survived by her brothers, Brooks Moore of Charleston, South Carolina, and Kenneth Moore of Pompano, South Carolina.

Her life was centered on faith, family, and caring for others. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Mobile.

Memorials may be made to St. Lukes Episcopal Church, in her memory.

Betty Moore Collier will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her open heart, her steadfast devotion to her family, and the grace and kindness she extended to so many throughout her life.
