Betty Joyce Owens

Betty Joyce Lee Owens, 77, a native of Greenville, Alabama and resident of State Line, Mississippi passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 3, 2016. She was a homemaker and member of the American Legion Post # 164 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed organizing benefits and community activities to help others in need. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her son, John W. Wilkolak, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 24 years, Edward Owens; three daughters, Deborah Avera, Teresa Wilkolak and Cheryle Farmer; four grandchildren, David Godsey, Amanda Loper and her father, Sonny, Shaun Jodon and Lindsey Wilkolak; five great grandchildren, D.J., Taiven, Skylar, Anna and Emmalynn; step-children, Dawn Brown and her four children, Peggy Heathcock (Jim) and her three daughters, Ed Owens and his three children, and Becky Owens and her two children; two brothers, Joe Lee and Melvin "Butch" Lee; sister, Ann Gill; other relatives and friends. The Wake will be from 6-9pm Friday, October 7, 2016 at Freeman Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10am Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Freeman Funeral Home.
