Bonnie Smith Stokley was born on June 20, 1938 in Waynesboro, MS, and was a resident of Semmes, Alabama when she was called to her eternal home on January 21, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents Luke and Mattie Smith and the love of her life Ed Stokley.
She is survived by her brother, L.M. Smith; her son, Eddie Stokley (Sheila); her daughter, Brenda Brunson (Terry); eight grandchildren, Matt Stokley (Ashleigh), Byron Byrd (Kristen), Jessica Peterson (Devin), Heather Garner (Josh), Amanda Brinkman (Dan), Krista Byrd, Amanda Leikvold (Caleb), and Andrew Brunson (Jill); eighteen great grandchildren, Christian, Loryn, Sammy, Braxton, Caleb, Presleigh, Ethan, Trent, Camron, Brantley, Juliana, Maddie, Lydia, Hannah, Watson, Gary, Graham, and Jamie.
She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known for her homemade biscuits, cornbread dressing and seafood gumbo. She loved collecting angels of all kinds. She was a prayer warrior and a powerful woman of God. She loved God and her church. She was a member of Lott Road Church of God for over fifty years.
The family will receive friends from 12pm until the 1pm funeral service Friday, January 27, 2023, at Lott Road Church of God with Rev. Jerrod Stanford officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include Matt Stokley, Byron Byrd, Dan Brinkman, Ethan Stokley, Devin Peterson, and Josh Garner.
