Rev. Bruce Willard Sheffield, 74, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at his residence in Citronelle. Rev. Sheffield pastored churches in the Alabama West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church for 36 years. After retirement in 2012 he returned home to Citronelle, where he was an active member of the Citronelle United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Flossie Sheffield, brothers, Clifford Sheffield, Fred “Red” Sheffield, and sister, Louise Hudson. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Kathryn L. Sheffield; sons, Bruce E. Sheffield (Jennifer) and John W. Sheffield (Sheri); grandchildren, Lucas, Aaron, Christian, Rebecca, Chloe, and Jack; great grandchildren, Heidi and Lincoln; siblings, Clyde Sheffield (Shirley), Margie McAllister (Larry), and Roger Sheffield (Angela); other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 10am until 11am at Citronelle United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11am with Rev. Lauren Helveston, Rev. Larry Anderson, Rev. Brandon Dasinger and Rev. Anthony Tutor officiating. Burial will follow in Citronelle Methodist Cemetery. Online register available at www.freemancitronelle.com.
