Carl Michael “Dipstick” Weaver, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Carl was a man whose life was defined by hard work, generosity, faith, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Born on February 13, 1953, Carl spent his life doing what he loved most—driving big trucks, riding motorcycles, working hard, and helping anyone in need. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or share a story. Whether enjoying a cup of Maxwell House coffee, a Montego cigarette, riding his lawn mower, enjoying a bowl of lemon ice cream, or spending time with family and friends, Carl lived life on his own terms and with a heart full of love.
Above all else, Carl cherished his family. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children, grandchildren, and the many generations that followed. He was a proud family man whose legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the values he instilled.
Carl is survived by his children, Troy (Willie Mae) Buttram, Dana Buttram (Larry Goodman), Chasity (Hank “Phillo”) Sullivan, and James Weaver and Mary (Red) Weaver. He was the proud grandfather of 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings, Leslie Weaver, Hank Weaver, Jane Buckalew, and Margaret Weaver, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Della Weaver; his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Joyce Weaver; his son, Michael Paul Weaver; his siblings, Roy “String Bean” Weaver, Lucy Cooper, Mark Weaver, James Weaver, and Dave Weaver; his niece, Tiffany Sunshine Weaver; and his nephew, Dave Weaver Jr.
Carl's life was enriched by many lifelong friendships. He leaves behind special friends Roy Rivers (“Schoolboy”) and Roland Byrd Jr. (“Nig”), as well as countless others whose lives were made better by knowing him.
A faithful believer in the Lord, Carl's family finds comfort in knowing that he has been welcomed home and is at peace. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in every story shared, every lesson remembered, and every act of kindness done in his honor.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at Freeman Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Byrds Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jake Chestang, Luke Chestang, Dalton Rivers, Joshua Rivers, Kirkston Weaver,Patrick Weaver, Karlsen Weaver, Collin Weaver, and Shane Byrd.
Carl will be remembered for his strength, his humor, his stubbornness, his willingness to help others, and the deep love he had for his family. His was a life filled with hard work, laughter, friendship, and faith—a life that left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
"A life well lived, a man well loved, and a legacy that will never be forgotten."
