Carla Cochran Turner, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully at her home on November 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 30, 1968, Carla led a life characterized by her happy demeanor, caring nature, and an unwavering understanding of those around her. She possessed a remarkable sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew her.
Carla was deeply devoted to her husband, Rex Turner, and their bond was truly special. Together, they created a nurturing environment where their children could thrive. Carla's world revolved around her children: Troy Rivers (Noel), Sonny Rivers (Amanda), Carlie Rivers, Michelle Turner, Marvin Turner, and Teresa Roberts (Shane). Her love extended beyond her immediate family; she cherished her role as a grandmother, and her pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident in every interaction. She also had a special place in her heart for her chosen child, Chloe Powell, and her sister, Peggy Dearmon.
Carla had a passion for crafting, finding joy in creating beautiful Christmas and fall wreaths and decorations. She delighted in her hobbies and cherished the moments spent indulging in her passion, often with the help of Rex, especially when he encouraged her online shopping adventures at Temu.
Her parents, Jack and Sue Cochran, along with her brothers, Sonny Cochran and Bubba Cochran, and father-in-law, Gaines Murray Rivers predeceased her, leaving a legacy of fond memories and family ties that will endure.
The warmth and love that greeted all who entered her life leaves an indelible mark. She will be remembered not just for her accomplishments, but for the boundless love she freely expressed to her family and friends.
Wake will take place at Freeman Funeral Home on November 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on November 25, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the 10:00 AM funeral service with Bro. Brent Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Gulfcrest Cemetery.
