Celena Reed, also known as "Queen", a loving and vivacious soul, passed away on June 6, 2025, at USA Health University Hospital, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on January 11, 1946, Celena embraced life fully, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Celena was known for her outgoing personality, exuding warmth and exuberance wherever she went. She touched many lives through her unwavering love and care, making her a beloved figure among family and friends. Her passion for life was evident in her pursuits; she was an ardent traveler, having explored various corners of the globe. Her adventurous spirit was matched by her dedication to organic farming. She took joy in planting fruit trees and nurturing her garden, where she would often find solace and satisfaction.
A devout Christian, Celena's faith played a pivotal role in her life. Her kindness and generosity not only enriched her own spirit but also the lives of those around her. Family meant everything to her, and she held her loved ones dear. Many in her family affectionately referred to her as "Queen," a testament to the admiration and respect they had for her.
She is survived by her two children, Stewart O. Reed and Kimberly Reed Smith (Dr. Ken Smith), along with her cherished grandchildren: Cody Reed, Della Reed, Celena Reed, Grant Smith, Tyler Smith, and Blake Smith. Celena also took great joy in her great grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy in her later years.
In addition to her immediate family, Celena is survived by her siblings: Marcella Walton, Judy Motes, Margie Turner, Carl Bruce Reed, Wanda Westerdahl, and Sylvia Sue Weaver. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends, all of whom will remember her for her loving spirit and zest for life.
Celena is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Marks, father, Roy Reed, and mother, Della Reed, along with her siblings, Gordy Reed, Orban Lynn Stephens, Burt Reginald Reed, and Roy Noel Reed. Their memories will continue to live on through the lives she has influenced and inspired.
The celebration of Celena's life will be honored with visitation on June 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the 12:00 PM funeral service at Happy Gospel Field Assembly of God Church with Bro. Johnathan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Reed's Chapel Cemetery.
Celena Reed will be remembered as a beacon of love, strength, and joy, her influence enduring in the lives of those she nurtured and cherished throughout her remarkable journey.
