In Loving Memory of
Charles Everett Edwards, 83 years young
Born December 26, 1942 - Entered Eternal Rest February 16, 2026
Born in Grenada, Mississippi, Charles Everett Edwards lived a life of kindness, faith, and generosity. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend that shared his heart with everyone he met. Through his career as a Saladmaster salesman, he traveled various places and touched the hearts of countless lives through his work, laughter, wisdom and kindness he offered so freely. He never met a stranger; his warm smile and loving spirit brightened every place he went. Charles is now rejoicing in the loving arms of Jesus Christ. Surrounded by peace and everlasting light.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Cullen DeRoy Edwards Sr. and Jewel Marie Kennedy, his daughter Robin Edwards, his sister Marie Sisson and his brothers Cullen DeRoy Edwards Jr., Ricky Edwards and Perry Edwards. All those who he cherished so deeply.
Charles is survived by his loving daughter Jeri Mathews and son Joseph Edwards. He is also survived by his beloved aunt Geneva Gee, uncle Bobby Kennedy, his dear siblings Cheryl Middleton, Anita Carr, Johnny Edwards, Rose Wortman, Tommy Edwards, Cynthia Phifer and his special cousin Carol Dye. His legacy overflows through his treasured grandchildren: Zanab Kiaee, Atefeh Kiaee, Alireza Kiaee, Amir Kiaee, Zohreh Russell and Jacob Edwards. From them, Charles was blessed with 8 great grandchildren who he loved and doted on greatly.
His life was a shining testament to love, humility, fun and a witty sense of humor. Charles prided himself in creating “the selfie” in year 1958 when he used a stick to press the button on his camera thus taking a photo of himself wearing army combat gear. To know him was to know a great sense of humor and a spirit of generosity. Though he may have left this earthly home, his laughter, guidance, and love remain forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to call him family and friend. His lifetime friends John and Sandra Roberts of Yukon, Oklahoma are a living testement to his kindess, impacted by their true friendship of 50 years with Charles. We all love you and this is not a goodbye, but merely a “see you later”.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” -Matthew 5:4. The very words of our savior who now embraces Charles in Eternity.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” -Isaiah 40:31
The family will receive friends for the viewing on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at Mount Vernon Methodist Church with Brother Charles Gambrell officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Community Cemetery.
