Christopher J Mason

Christopher J. Mason, affectionately known as "Speedy," passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 50. Born on May 1, 1975, he dedicated his life to hard work and was a loving family man who cherished moments spent with his loved ones.

Chris' career as a do it all manager in industrial cleaning spanned the majority of his life, where he earned respect for his dedication and tireless work ethic. He balanced work and family commitments with grace, embodying the principles of diligence and care in all he did.

Outside of work, Chris enjoyed fishing and was an avid supporter of Alabama football, often bringing joy to those around him with his enthusiasm for the game. He thrived in the company of his children and grandchildren, who served as his proudest accomplishments. His legacy is one of warmth, love, and unwavering support.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Crystal Mason; his children, James Mason (Amy), Dylan Mason, Kayla Mason, Rachel Mason, Zackary Mason, Reese Mason, Ashleigh Ngo (Peter), Donald Spaulding and Isabella Spaulding. Chris was a cherished grandfather to Brilyn, McKenleigh, Georgia, Christopher, and Tatum. He is also survived by his sisters, Shannon Sullivan (Andrew) and Robin Mason-Rushia (Bryan); nieces and nephews, Andrew, Krystal, and Killian. close cousins/brothers, Ricky Beasley, Terry Dearman (Stefanie), Timmie Dearman (Peggy), and Scottie Dearman (Julie); uncle, Larry Paul Mason, along with a multitude of other relatives and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, James J. Mason; mother, Sharon Pearl Mason; aunt, Sandra Wilkerson; and uncle, Danny Beasley.

A visitation for Chris will take place on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home.  Following this, a graveside service will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow. 

Chris' memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him, and he will be deeply missed by all.
