Clara Maxine Schmitz Clark

Maxine Clark, a resident of Saraland passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Saad’s Retreat. She was born in Mobile, Alabama on March 20, 1936 to Oley Schmitz and Clara Williams Schmitz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Delbert James Clark, Jr., and her brothers, Wilson Schmitz, Terry Schmitz and Gayle Schmitz, and her beloved companion, Harry Edward Keenan. 

She is survived by her brother, Michael Schmitz (Pam), three sons, Dennis J. Clark (Suzanne), Gary W. Clark, and Richard D. Clark (Lisa). Her grandchildren, Daniel Clark, Danette Mixon (Jody), Alex Clark (Kayla), Grant Clark, J.H. Hurley and Elizabeth Hurley. Seven great grandchildren, other family and friends. 

A graveside service will be held at Gulfcrest Cemetery on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Willie Gray of Gulfcrest Baptist Church officiating. Special music by Deborah Clark. 

Honorary pallbearers are Harry Edward Keenan, Jr., Aden McEvoy and Kenneth Reed. Active pallbearers are Daniel Clark, Jody Mixon, Jackson Mixon, Alex Clark, Grant Clark and J.H. Hurley.
