David Chris Reed, born March 23, 1954, peacefully passed away on April 30, 2026, at USA Providence Hospital. A devoted family man and fervent sports enthusiast, David is remembered with deep affection and respect by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
David’s life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, which he regarded as his proudest accomplishment. His heart was especially full of pride for his grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Beyond family, David was an avid follower of wrestling and football, passionately supporting the Alabama Crimson Tide and the New Orleans Saints. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures found in watching logging videos on YouTube, a unique interest that brought him relaxation and delight.
David is lovingly survived by his children: Jeffrey Reed and his wife Brittney, Daniel Reed, Angel Reed-Moore and her husband Gary, Charlene Waite, and David Reed and his wife Erika. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Makayla, Kyle, Lucas, Zachary, Alexis, Madison, Lizzie, and Jasper. He is also survived by his sisters Cathy Reed and her husband Rusty, Yvonne Knowles, Sherri Reed, Josephine Reed, and Sharon Reed-Michael, along with his brother-in-law John Huggins. David’s presence enriched the lives of numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a vast circle of friends who will hold his memory dear.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene Reed; his parents, Clauzelle and Thelma Reed; and his siblings Ricky Reed, Larry Wayne Reed, and Karen Sue Huggins. Their memories remain a treasured part of his story.
A wake honoring David’s life will be held at Magnolia Holiness Church on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The family will reveice friends on Monday, May 4 from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service with Bro. Ike Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
David’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends. His memory will forever be cherished, a beacon of affection and strength for all who were fortunate to know him.
