Delois Anglin, affectionately known as Lois or Nan, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama, at the age of 81. Born on January 19, 1944, in McIntosh, Alabama, she was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and outgoing personality touched the lives of many.
Lois was the daughter of Dillard Covington and Mary Rivers. Her early life blossomed in the close-knit community of McIntosh, where she embraced the joys and simple pleasures of life. She was known for her honesty and her love for being outdoors, enjoying trips to the fruit stand, shopping sprees, and the adventures that travel brought her.
Her family meant everything to her, and she took immense pride in her role as a matriarch. Lois is survived by her two children, Wayne Anglin and Junior Anglin (Kim), along with son-in-law, Bill Kountz. She was a devoted grandmother to Phillip, Allison, Brittany, Amber, Hunter, Dakota, and Cole, and cherished each moment spent with her great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Anthony, Noah, Jonathon "Eli", Summer, Hannah, Addison Bell, and Nathan. Lois was also a loving sister to Clifton Covington (Erma), Mattie Moore (Don), Rhonda Echols (Timmy), and Sylvia Reed (Collie), and she leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will remember her with fondness.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Anglin, her daughter Sherry Kountz, grandson Billy Wayne, her brother Dillard Covington, and her loving parents. Her legacy of love and family will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lois’s life during visitation at Magnolia Holiness Church in McIntosh, Alabama, on December 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM until the 1:00 PM funeral service with Rev. Willie Long and Rev. Ramsey officiating. This gathering will serve as a tribute to her joyous spirit and enduring impact on all who were fortunate enough to share her journey.
