Edith Louise Ward

Edith Louise Ward, affectionately known as Eadie, was born on November 12, 1946 in West Palm Beach, FL, and passed away on October 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A woman of many talents and boundless warmth, Eadie made lasting impressions in every role she embraced throughout her life.

Upon graduating high school, Eadie pursued some college education before beginning a diverse career that included serving as a hairdresser and cosmetologist, working as an accounting manager, a florist, and eventually becoming a proud small business owner. Her professional journey was marked by determination and skill, along with an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Eadie was not merely defined by her work; her personality shone brightly through her kindness, honesty, sincerity, and fierce loyalty. She was a selfless individual, consistently placing the needs of others above her own. Her joy was found in the happiness of those she loved, creating a legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know her.

An avid baker and cook, Eadie was renowned for her famous pound cake, a testament to her love for nurturing family and friends around the table. She took immense delight in preparing meals and sharing them with those she held dear, creating cherished memories through her culinary creations. Eadie's passion for travel enriched her life experiences, with a special fondness for the northern part of Spain, where she connected deeply with the rich culture, warm people, and exquisite cuisine.

Eadie's love story began in 1979 when she met her future husband, Ramon Pradera, while working at the Jaialai in Connecticut. Their connection was immediate, and they were inseparable from that moment forward. Eadie and Ramon married in 1981, celebrating over 44 years together, during which time their bond only deepened. She often spoke of Ramon as the love of her life and took great pride in the family they built together.

Eadie is survived by her devoted husband, Ramon Pradera; their son, Ramon Pradera III; daughter-in-law, Samantha Hall; her beloved grandchildren, Ramon IV and Sienna Pradera, and her nephew Billy R. Bolling, along with several extended family members and friends. Each member of her family was a source of joy and inspiration, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Eadie was preceded in death by her parents, James Ward and Ruth Pinner Ward, and her sister, Ellen Leota Ward Weber Haynes. The impact of her absence leaves a space that nothing can ever replace, but the love she shared and the memories she created will forever be a guiding light for her family.

The funeral will be held at a future date at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Citronelle, Alabama where she and her husband were parishioners.
