Eleanor Joyce Rabbie, a beloved soul who graced the world with her outgoing and fun-loving personality, passed away peacefully at her home on May 28, 2024. She was known for her caring nature and the way she touched the lives of those around her.
Born on July 17, 1936, Eleanor led a remarkable life filled with simple yet profound joys. She dedicated herself to her career, walking to and from work every day, earning not only a living but also the admiration of her peers in the form of numerous awards.
Eleanor's interests were as varied as they were passionate. From watching football and boxing matches to indulging in westerns, she found joy in the thrill of sports and entertainment. Her love for shopping, cooking, and hosting gatherings showcased her nurturing spirit, while her adventures in traveling enriched her life experiences.
Among Eleanor's proudest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she cherished deeply. Her dedication to family was unwavering, evident in the relationships she built and nurtured over the years.
Eleanor was reunited in death with her father, David Lester Rabbie, Sr.; mother, Alice Rice-Wyse; grandson, Daniel Quinton Ball; and siblings, David Lester Rabbie Jr., Andrew Harry "Buckle" Rabbie, Daniel James "Skipper" Rabbie, and Robert Joseph "Bobby" Rabbie.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be carried on by her surviving family members and friends. Eleanor is remembered fondly by her children - Roberta Racehorse (Rick Edmo), Beverly Sullivan (Burt), and Terry Racehorse; grandchildren - Mindy Ball, Cody Weyerman, Kevin Sullivan, Sarah Byrd, Crystal Dove, James Jordan, and Lonnie Jordan; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings - Ethel Marie Rabbie, Velma May O'Kefee, and Ellen Louise Palmer; as well as numerous other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth.
Eleanor's presence will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved immensely during her time on this earth.
A wake will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home.
