Elizabeth Byrd

Elizabeth Byrd, age 94, a native and resident of Mount Vernon died Monday, March 30, 2009, at her residence. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Mobile County School System. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She is survived by her Two Daughters, Rellia M. Byrd Lofton and Cornelia (Lil Neal) Newsome both of Mount Vernon; One Son, Ellis A Byrd of Mount Vernon; One Brother, Samuel Byrd of Mount Vernon; Ten Grandchildren and Eleven Great-grandchildren; And other relatives and friends. A wake will be from 6 PM to 9 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. Funeral service will be at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 2 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2009 with Rev. Ed McKibben officiating. Interment will be at Byrd Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
