Erika Gwen Byrd, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She was 44 years old. Erika was born May 11, 1976. She loved doing hair and makeup and enjoyed going shopping and listening to music. Erika was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, George Byrd; grandparents, Adrian and Gussie Lofton, and David and Fannie Byrd; and aunts, Lesa Lofton and Amy Allday; uncles, Mack Byrd, Robert Byrd, Fred Byrd, and James Byrd; brother in law, Lee Reed. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Scott Reed; children, Robert Byrd, Jr. (Kelly), Esabella Weaver, and Wyatt Reed; mother, Rita Byrd; mother and father in law, Ronnie and Sharon Reed; siblings, April Koger (Stephen Snow), Sue Ellen Byrd, George Byrd, and Georgette Byrd Mosley (Jason); a host of loving nieces and nephews; special friend, Angie Reed; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am Mass of the Resurrection Monday, November 16, 2020, at Saint Theresa Catholic Church with Rev. John Coghlan, celebrant.
