Everett Rivers, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on October 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 29, 1941, Everett lived a life that touched the hearts of many and left behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Everett dedicated many years of his life to working at the shipyard, where he showcased his strong work ethic and commitment. However, there was more to Everett's life than just his career, he had an extraordinary ability to bring laughter into any room he entered. His sense of humor brightened the lives of those around him, and his acts of kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
In his leisure time, Everett enjoyed playing cards, especially pedru. He found joy in these social gatherings where he could engage in friendly competition and create lasting memories with loved ones.
Among Everett's proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He would often speak fondly about each one of them with immense pride shining in his eyes. Everett was a devoted husband to his late wife Betty Rivers, and together they raised their children: Patricia Wells (Kenneth), Lillian Weaver (Keith), and Everett Rivers (Delia). He was also blessed with grandson/son, Anthony Byrd (Ella); and grandsons, Brandon Reed, Ryan Reed, and Will Reed. Their presence brought immeasurable joy to Everett's life.
Everett deeply cherished his wife, Betty Byrd Rivers “Bet Bet”; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild, who reminded him daily of the depth of love that can be found within a family. His unconditional love and support knew no bounds, and he made everyone in his family feel special and cherished.
Everett Jr. is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rivers; parents, Everett and Irene Rivers, and daughter, Brenda Reed.
