Fleeta Johnson

Fleeta Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 21, 1938, Fleeta lived a full and vibrant life, marked by the deep connections she forged with her family and friends.

Fleeta was a proud mother to her children, Rita, Shelia Jarrell (Craig Jarrell son-in-law), and Becky Johnson (Todd Hennis son-in-law). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Chris Jarrell, Amy Jarrell Goins, Brittany Johnson Lee (Josh Lee), Chantz Franz Dixon (Ian Dixon), and Willis David Franz. The joy of her life expanded with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Layton, Peyton & Paxton Dixon, Asalynn Chavers, Keeli Goins, Kyler Galloway, Caleb Jarrell Wolfe, Tryton Jarrell, Addison Franz, River Franz, Luke Johnson, Randi Miller, Dawsyn Lee, and Addisyn Lee. She also welcomed the joy of being a great-great-grandmother to Apollo Goins, creating memories that will last for generations to come.

Fleeta enjoyed a rich life filled with meaningful relationships, including her deep and cherished friendships with Mattie Moore and Lois Anglin. They shared countless moments of laughter and joy, from their childhood to their golden years. The sisterhood they cultivated over decades was characterized by an amazing love and an appreciation for the fun times they spent together, including weekend sleepovers and heartfelt conversations. Fleeta was forever grateful for the unwavering support and love that these two remarkable women offered throughout her life.

In addition to her thriving family tree, Fleeta is reunited with her late husband, Willis Johnson, and has joined her beloved mother and father, along with five brothers and two sisters in eternal rest.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. Both services will take place at Freeman Funeral Home with Bro. Jr Long officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery West. 

Fleeta Johnson’s spirit, love, and laughter will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and the myriad of lives she touched throughout her journey.
