Flossie Mae Sullivan

February 7, 1940 — August 9, 2018

Flossie Mae Sullivan, 78, a native and resident of Fairford, Alabama passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Springhill Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 7, 1940 to Louie and Vallie Weaver. She loved going to church, praying, singing and was a member of Home Gospel Holiness Church. Flossie loved her church family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and always made sure that her grandchildren were well provided for. She loved to cook, canning fruit and vegetables and no matter who you were, she always made sure that everyone had enough to eat. She also a very talented seamstress, sewing many quilts by hand. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Flossie is now rejoicing in Heaven with her husband of 64 years, Arthur “Bro. Brown” Sullivan and other family members that preceded her in death, parents, Louie and Vallie Weaver; husband, son, Arthur L. Sullivan; two daughters, Loria Ann Allo and Ina Mae Sullivan; and siblings, Annie V. Covington, Evie Sullivan, Louie Weaver, Elton Weaver, Lebert Weaver, Johnny Weaver, Donald Weaver, Mack Arthur Weaver and Woodie Weaver. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lue Sullivan (Vanessa), Lucy Weaver (Jimmy Chestang), Arlene Huminston (Dennis), Judy Rivers, Joerine Chestang (Charles), Lue Elton Sullivan (Eucellis) and raised many more children as her own; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Percy “Pete” Weaver; other relatives and friends. A special thanks to her caregiver and granddaughter, Loria Sullivan for the loving care given to her Grandma. The wake will be from 6-9pm Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Home Gospel Holiness Church. The funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Home Gospel Holiness Church with Rev. Paul Chestang and Rev. Dwight Weaver officiating.
