It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred William Combest, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Fred was a man of many qualities, but what truly set him apart was his one-of-a-kind personality and his great sense of humor.
Born on February 23, 1952, Fred lived a life full of love and adventure. He dedicated 23 years of his life to serving in the Navy, where he retired as a chief in the Communications occupation. His military service was one of his proudest accomplishments, and it shaped him into the strong and determined man that he was.
Fred will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his children, Brandon Combest (Angela), Ashlee Stringer (Alan Cope), and Zachary Combest (Misty); grandchildren, Brandi Combest (Frank Gerencser), Andrew Combest (Danielle Mabe), Briana Cole, Gage Combest, Braden Combest, Alexandrea Combest, Hailie Combest, Hayden Stringer, Savanah Stringer, and Parker Combest; great grandchildren, Elijah, Grayson, Sebastian, and Luna; siblings,Vickie (Charlie) Burns, Nancy (Kurt) Shoffner, and Charles Combest; other relatives and friends. Fred is preceded in death by his daughter Andrea Jean Combest; and parents, Charles and Phyllis Combest.
A visitation to honor Fred's life will be held on January 22, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
Fred William Combest will forever be remembered for his vibrant personality, his dedication to his country, and the love he shared with his family and friends. Though he may be gone from our sight, he will remain forever in our hearts.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
