Garcia Alvin Edmonds, a devoted family man and a faithful servant of God, passed away on January 23, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on March 29, 1933, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Garcia lived a life full of love, dedication, and unwavering faith.

Throughout his life, Garcia remained unashamed of his faith and showered those around him with kindness and compassion. He was a man deeply rooted in his beliefs and found solace in serving his community. With a genuine heart and an open mind, Garcia touched the lives of many through his acts of selflessness and generosity.

Garcia's military service exemplified his commitment to serving others. He began by serving in the Civil Air Patrol before dedicating two years of his life to the United States Army. His time in the military instilled in him values of discipline, integrity, and loyalty that he carried with him throughout his life.

One of Garcia's proudest accomplishments was serving as a deacon across various churches. His unwavering faith and commitment to living a righteous life made him an exceptional leader within the religious community. He faithfully carried out his duties as a deacon with grace and humility, providing guidance and support to those who sought comfort in their faith.

When Garcia wasn't devoting his time to church or military service, he cherished every moment spent with his family. His loving wife Kathryn stood by his side for many beautiful years. Together they nurtured their daughter Kim Lee (Ken), creating a nurturing home filled with love and laughter. Garcia adored his role as a father and embraced it wholeheartedly.

Garcia's greatest joy came from watching his family grow. He was blessed with grandchildren Kristin Kim Roy, Kevin Lee, Kamrin Lee who brought immeasurable happiness into his life. His six great-grandchildren added an extra sparkle to his eyes and he treasured every moment spent with them. Garcia's love for his family was evident in the time and care he gave to each one of them.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Elise Edmonds.

A graveside service will be held for Garcia on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Edmonds Family Cemetery in Citronelle, Alabama with Dr. Kyle Jones officiating. 

Garcia Alvin Edmonds lived a life centered around faith, love, and family. His unwavering devotion to serving God and others has left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he led and aspire to carry forward his legacy of kindness, selflessness, and compassion. Rest in peace, Garcia Alvin Edmonds.
