George David Davis

George David Davis, affectionately known as “Dave Crock”, passed away, Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was 62 years old. Dave was born October 29, 1954 in Mobile County where he resided all his life. He was a logger all his life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was well known in the community and will be greatly missed. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann Byrd and George Washington Davis; his step father, Elsworth Dick Byrd, Sr.; his sisters, Mary Robeka Davis and Myrtle Juanita Davis; and his brothers, Perry Warren Davis and Kenneth Martin Byrd. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Becky Ann Buckley Thompson, Bobbie Jean Buckley Jones, and Carl Wesley Buckley; grandchildren, Kaitlin Jones, Rudy Jones Jr., Christian Matthew Buckley, Easton Wesley Buckley, Zachary Scott Weaver, Isabella Diane Weaver, and Isaiah Law “Nugget”; brothers, Horace Byrd Sr., Ricky Byrd Sr., Elsworth Byrd Jr., Adam Byrd; sisters, Zettie Weaver, Amanda Snow, Barbi Davis; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Lighthouse of Praise Holiness Church, 2105 West Coy Smith Highway, Mount Vernon, Alabama 36560, with Rev.
