Grady Boothe, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on September 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and enduring love.
Grady, a proud veteran who served in the United States Army as a Sergeant for two years, was known for his vibrant spirit and multifaceted skills, earning the affectionate title of "jack of all trades and a master of most." His personality shone brightly, often characterized by his playful manner of pointing fingers and bossing people around, which endeared him to those who knew him.
He was a man of many interests, relishing the joys of the great outdoors. Grady found pleasure in working, fishing at the river, hunting, and playing his harmonica. His love for life was evident in the simple pleasures he embraced, creating lasting memories with his family.
Grady took immense pride in his family, which was undoubtedly one of his proudest accomplishments. He cherished every moment spent with his wife of 60 years, Kathy Boothe; his children: Bo Boothe (Verna), Scott Boothe (Jessica), and Brenda Boothe. Survived by his adoring grandchildren—Darbie Weaver, Keith Miller, Jessica Turner, Trey Boothe, Devin Reed, Carley Rivers, Briana Boothe, Emily Reid, P-Nut Reid, Laci Godwin, and Melinda Davidson,—and twenty-nine great-grandchildren, along with eight great-great-grandchildren, and brother, William Leon Boothe (Norma), his family was the heart of his existence.
Grady is predeceased by his daughter, Debbie Miller; his parents, Henry and Rosie Boothe; and his siblings: sisters, Dott Malone, Louise Malone, and Carol Duiett, and brothers, JC Boothe "P-Nut" and Harvey L Boothe. Their memories and affection will be cherished by Grady’s family as they gather to honor him.
A visitation will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM with Bro. Marcus Hobbs and Bro. Jr Long officiating. Burial will follow in Georgetown Church Cemetery.
