Gregory V Reed, born on June 3, 1969, passed away on March 3, 2026. Gregory was known for his hard-working nature and his unwavering faith, which was a cornerstone of his life. He took great pride in his relationship with the Lord and dedicated much of time to reading the Bible.
Gregory had a variety of interests that brought joy to his life and those around him. He was an avid fan of Alabama football. One of Gregory's most endearing qualities was his generosity; he loved to take his loved ones out to eat, creating cherished memories over meals that will be fondly remembered by many.
He is survived by his children, Brok Weaver, Kaitlyn Reed, Phillip Reed (Schon), and Samuel Reed; and his grandchildren, Akira, Lilyanah, and Leiland. Gregory is also survived by his siblings, Vance Reed (Deanna), Phyllis Nelson (Ray), Troy Reed (Shirley), Ingran Simmon (Pat), Chris Reed (April), and Tiffany Beason (Jeremy); along with Lemo Byrd, Jr. (Dana), Travis Byrd (Tara), and Angie Middleton (Tim). He leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and close friends who were touched by his kindness and spirit.
Gregory was preceded in death by his father, Verma Reed; mother, Mary Weaver-Hicks; step-mother, Reva Reed; and brothers, John Weaver and Michael Byrd.
A celebration of Gregory's life will be held at Mount Pleasant Church on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral Service with Bro. Eric Reed and Bro. Chris Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Reed's Chapel Cemetery.
Gregory V Reed will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and passions but also for the love and warmth he brought into the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of faith, family, and friendship will live on in the hearts of many.
