Jack Chestang, born February 6, 1948, passed away on November 1, 2026, at Washington County Hospital and Nursing Home.
Jack will be remembered as a hardworking man with a great work ethic. He spent the majority of his life working as a fence director, and those who knew him understood how deeply he valued honest labor and dedication. He was very hard working, and that steady commitment shaped much of his life.
Outside of work, Jack found joy in the things he loved most. He enjoyed Alabama football, fishing, and especially hunting. These interests brought him happiness and were a meaningful part of the life he lived. Among his proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Charlotte Chestang; daughter, Tara Weaver (Daffy); grandchildren, Kristal Brown, Jacob Brown (Janice), and Brandon Sullivan; great grandchildren, Daylon, Taylyn, Evan, Mariana, Sattin, and Cash; siblings, Jinnie Taylor, Steve Chestang (Velma), Carolyn Orso, Dallas Chestang, Jr. (Melanie), and Robin Chestang (Nora); God children, Sonya Kirkwood and Shana McNeill; a host of relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jack S. Chestang, and Brooke Sullivan; his father, Dallas Chestang; his mother, Evie Chestang; his sisters, Grace Weaver, Ethel Chestang, and Vallie Sullivan; and his brothers, RV Chestang and Joe Chestang.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Chestang and Bro. Ronnie Toomey officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Jack’s life was marked by hard work, devotion to family, and enjoyment of the simple things he loved most. He will be remembered with respect and affection by all who knew him.
