James Curtis Henderson, Jr.

April 1, 1949 — June 3, 2023

James Curtis Henderson, Jr. passed away on June 3rd, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and love. He was a man who made an impact on the lives of those around him, and he will be deeply missed.

Born in Citronelle, Alabama in 1949, James lived a full and happy life. He was deeply committed to his family and friends and cherished the moments spent with them. James worked for Frisbie Construction until his retirement after 38 years of service. His dedication, strong work ethic and attention to detail did not go unnoticed as evidenced by his numerous commendations.

James was also a proud husband to Mary B. Henderson, and father to sons Mickey Ray Henderson, Joey Daniel Henderson, James Harvey Henderson, and Banjo. His love for his children shone through in everything he did. In his free time, James loved nothing more than being outdoors where he could indulge in his favorite hobbies of gardening and building things. Given that he always took pride in the work that surrounded him it was no surprise that one of the proudest accomplishments he spoke about most often was the work he had done around his home.

Throughout his life, James touched countless lives with his warmth and generosity. He valued people above all else and was always there when anyone needed him. He cared deeply about others, offering help when needed even if that meant sacrificing some of his own well-being.

In addition to his wife and sons; James is survived by several grandchildren, as well as sisters, Sharon Pederson (Rodney) and Jamie Ann Henderson; uncles, Raymond Henderson and Don Henderson; other relatives and friends.

James will always be remembered for his unwavering kindness and love for others as we mourn our loss but cherish all of the good times shared with him.
