Jaylon Rivers, a beloved father, son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on May 11, 2025, at the tender age of 19. Born on September 8, 2005, Jaylon’s life was marked by his caring nature and dedication to looking out for others. His vibrant personality and enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jaylon had a passion for football, both playing and watching, which brought him immense joy. He also enjoyed making music and had a natural talent for it. His love for taking selfies captured joyful moments spent hanging out with friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Jaylon is survived by his cherished daughter, Magnolia Paige Schaffer; his loving mother, Jennifer Leigh Johnston; and his devoted father, Jasper O'Brian Rivers. He is also survived by his loving grandparents, Ella Comans "MeMe," Ola Weaver "Bell Bell," Robert Comans (Renee), Joe Rivers, and Lola Rivers. His siblings, Jordon Lee Rivers "Jordo," Jennelle Rivers, Noah Rivers (Carley), Madison Rivers, Jason Byrd, Jr. "Lil Jay,", Caidon Johnson "Q Man", Justin Adams "Tang", Dominique Byrd, Nathan Cole Bracewell and Brent Douglas, Jr. "Lil B" will forever hold him in their hearts.
Jaylon's family extends to a caring network of aunts and uncles, including Kam Douglas (Fut), Kevelyn Comans, Michael Johnston, Jason Byrd, Sr., Ginger Rivers, Verzella Rivers, Jacob Rivers, and Ashley Rose Rivers, along with Randy Starns, Travis Starns, and Benjamin Weaver. He also leaves behind girlfriend, McKenzie Lynne Chestang; best friend, Jay Rivers; special aunts Ola Sullivan, Michelle Fell, Amanda Hammac, Ramona Byrd (Leo), Glenda Byrd (Clyde), and Aunt Marilyn Weaver (Eastmond) who loved him dearly, as well as many other relatives and friends who enriched his life.
He joins in eternal rest with his grandfather, Michael Wayne Johnston; uncles, Joseph Weaver and Christopher Byrd; great-great-grandmother, Ida Byrd; great grandmother, Virginia Roland; as well as great-grandfathers, Hayward Weaver and L.J. Johnston.
Jaylon's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he leaves behind, reminding us all of the joy and love he brought into our lives.
