Reverend John Gregory Helveston, known to many as Brother Johnny, a lifelong resident of Charity Chapel, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on May 25, 2022. He was 72 years old.

He was a retired Operator of 32 years at Mobile Pulley and Machine Works. Brother Johnny was a devoted pastor to Full Gospel Tabernacle for 31 years who devoted his life to the service of his community. He was a lifetime member of the church and gave his heart to Christ 48 years ago. He served his church and community in many ways including cemetery caretaker, 21-year volunteer fire department Chaplin and mentoring youth for several years. There were many who benefited from his generous spirit and loyal friendship.
