Julius Turner

April 15, 1955 — September 1, 2025

Chunchula, Alabama

Julius Turner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on September 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 15, 1955, Julius was known for his outgoing and social personality, his selfless nature, and his passionate love for life.

Julius found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman and dove hunter, who cherished his time spent with family and friends. His passion for farming and gardening brought him immense happiness, and he treasured the afternoons spent tending to his farm animals and watching the doves while sitting on the back porch of his shop. Julius had a remarkable talent for building and fixing things, often showcasing his skills during gatherings where he would engage in conversations, sharing stories and laughter over delicious meals he prepared from wild game.

Family meant everything to Julius, and he took great pride in his role as a husband and father. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Turner; his daughter, Callie Owen (Tyler); his son, Josh Turner; and his adored grandchildren, Gauge, Jaxon Paul, Jax, and Brynlee. He also leaves behind his cherished siblings, Loretta Presnell (Rannel), Allen Turner (Cindy), and Mertice (Henry), along with beloved brothers-in-law, Brett Easterbrook (Betsy) and Scott Easterbrook (Pam). Julius was also a cherished uncle to a multitude of nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Turner and Mattie Belle Turner, and siblings JE Turner (Carolyn), Terrell Turner, Olivia Boothe (Lec), and Frank Turner (Margie). He also mourned the loss of his brother-in-law, Gregg Easterbrook.

Julius' memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, as he embodied the spirit of family and friendship. A visitation will be held on September 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Celebration of Life at Freeman Funeral Home.
