Kathleen Lewis

September 1, 1972 — May 25, 2026

Fairford, Alabama

Kathleen "Kathy" Lewis resident of Fairford, Al passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026 in her sleep.Kathy was a talented artist who saw beauty everywhere—and she brought that beauty to life, whether on canvas or in the garden. She had a gift for growing plants and flowers, and her hands were rarely without dirt or a paintbrush. More than her art, though, Kathy was known for her good heart and loving nature. She was the kind of person who made you feel seen, and her warmth lingered long after you left her side. She also loved to read and would often be found with a book in her hand.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Lance Dixon II; her mother, Audrey Prudence Caylor; and her brother, William Caylor.Kathy leaves behind her devoted significant other, Wilson Taylor; her cherished children, Dan Sullivan (Carlissa), Andrew Dixon, Thomas Lofton (Tiffany), and Alexandra Gray (Mathew); and her beloved grandchildren—whom she lovingly called her "little terrorists"—Audrey Cooper, Rowan Lofton, Dean Gray, and Ariel Edwards. She is also survived by her brothers, Alfred Lewis (Janice) and Robert Caylor (Britney); her sister, Tori Johnston (Tim); and many adored nieces and nephews who will miss her light dearly.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 5th at 2:00 pm at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 2009 Firetower Rd, McIntosh, AL 36553.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant something in her memory—or simply make something with your hands. That would have made her smile.
