Kathryn L. Edmonds, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at George Regional Hospital. Born on October 28, 1934, Kathryn graced this world with her friendly, loving, and kind spirit, leaving a legacy of happiness and warmth that has touched many lives.
Kathryn found great joy in her family, friends, and church members. She leaves behind a daughter, Kim Kate (Kenny) Lee, three grandchildren, Kristen Roy, Kevin (Heather) Lee, Kamrin Lee, and six great-grandchildren, Kallie, Ethan, Elisabeth, Jaidyn, Rowan, and Phillip. Her love for family extended beyond her immediate family; Kathryn had a close bond with her brother, Paul Norman (Darlene) Richmond, who recently visited her at her home, and a special place in her heart for her niece and nephew, Cheryl Ann Garrison and Shawn Garrison, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
Kathryn was passionate about her faith and found great comfort in attending church and participating in Bible study, where she formed deep connections with her community. She developed special relationships with several neighbors. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as leisurely rides in the country, looking at trees and flowers, and visiting Rocky Creek catfish house with family and friends to create joyful memories.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Garcia Edmonds, her loving parents, Norman and Alice Richmond, and her dear sister, Diana. A graveside service will be held for Kathryn on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Edmonds Family Cemetery in Citronelle, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Edmonds, Dustin Edmonds, Rault Edmonds, Bill Tanner, Kamrin Lee, and Kristin Roy.
As we reflect on her life, we remember Kathryn Edmonds as a very active Christian, whose happy demeanor and generous spirit enriched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
