Lazonia B Rivers, born on February 22, 1954, left this world on December 25, 2025, at the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her warm spirit and nurturing nature touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
Lazonia found joy in the simple pleasures of life, dedicating her time to cleaning and cooking, always enjoying the act of creating a welcoming home. She had a passion for playing cards, particularly games like pedru and rummy. One of her greatest treasures was the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their visits were filled with love and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Tara Weaver (Mark); her grandchildren, Birtlee Reed (Tyler), Melton Clark, Trey Rivers, Emily Rivers, and Carsen Rivers; as well as her great-grandchildren, Jordan Jr., Tyler Jr., Bryson, and Tynslee; mother, Hattie V. Sullivan; and her siblings, Carol Byrd (Billy), Van Rivers, Barbara Sullivan (George), Juanita Sullivan (Hank), Willard Lipcomb, and Scarlett Orso.
Lazonia was predeceased by her son, Lemual Rivers; her husband, Sterling Rivers; her father, William Lipscomb; her father and mother-in-law, Lemual and Lula Rivers; and her siblings, Bobby Lipscomb, Theresa Weaver, Maylon Weaver, and George Lipscomb. Their memory will live on in the hearts of her family, serving as a reminder of the profound love and connections that bind them.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the Mass of the Ressurection at 11:00 AM at Saint Theresa Catholic Church with Father Victor Ingalls as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Byrd Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join together to honor Lazonia's life and share their memories of her everlasting impact.
