Lillie Snow Edwards, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the McIntosh community, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026. Born on November 22, 1937, in McIntosh, Alabama, Lillie’s life was marked by her enduring love for her family, her steadfast faith, and her strong work ethic.
Lillie’s early years were shaped by her upbringing in McIntosh, where she earned her high school diploma in 1987 and furthered her education by obtaining an associate's degree in 1988. Demonstrating remarkable determination and resilience, she worked diligently alongside men in a lead mine in Boss, Missouri, shoveling rock—a testament to her unwavering strength and tenacity. Later in life, she served as a church secretary, contributing her talents and dedication to the McKinley Pentecostal Church community.
Her personality was a radiant reflection of her values: loving, forgiving, and caring. She found great joy in gardening, showcasing her green thumb and nurturing spirit through the beauty she cultivated in her garden. Lillie was an active and devoted member of McKinley Pentecostal Church, where she cherished spending time with her church family.
Family was the cornerstone of Lillie’s world. She was a proud mother to her children Sybil Kelley (Clarence), Terri Chapman (Charles), Anthony Edwards (Marybeth), Dana Edwards, and Tina Edwards. Her legacy extends through her numerous grandchildren—Summer Goggin, Joshua Goggin, Shelly Lucas, Kristian Ledet, Kylie Stewart, Anthony Jordan, Devon Chapman, Kyle Edwards, Tyler Edwards-Hobbs, Zackary Edwards, Emily Edwards, Jacob Edwards, Madison Edwards, Kayla Edwards, Kyler Edwards, LilyAnn Edwards, Jennifer Price, Margaret Adams, and Stacey Larue—and her many great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Lillie also leaves behind her sisters Arlean Reed and Sophia Strickland and her sister-in-law Bonnie Snow, along with a broad circle of other relatives and friends who treasured her presence.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Edwards; her daughter Cynthia Weaver Palmer; her parents Charles Snow and Viola Snow; and her siblings Irene Snow, Mack Snow, Charlie Snow, David Snow, Sr., Hillary Davis, and Danny D. Snow, Sr.
Lillie’s family meant everything to her, and they, in turn, thought the world of her—a proud and abiding accomplishment that she held close throughout her life. Her compassionate nature and steadfast devotion to those she loved leave a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know her.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 12:00 PM until the 1:00 PM funeral service at McKinley Pentecostal Church with Bro. Jackie Snow officiating. Burial will follow in Reed's Chapel Cemetery.
