Lori Ann Young

Lori Ann Young, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away on July 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born on May 10, 1964, Lori was a sweet and kind individual who left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her.

Lori's passion for spending time with her family was evident in everything she did. She cherished every moment with her husband, Marlin Young, and their children, Deidra Young-Lofton, Derrick Young, and Kayla Young. Lori's love and devotion extended to her grandchildren as well. She was the proud grandmother of Josh Lofton (Delaine), Alexis Lofton, Destiny Farley (Cameron), and Brantley Young. Her great granddaughter, Lariyah Farley, also held a special place in her heart.

Beyond her role as a devoted family woman, Lori had a zest for life and pursued various hobbies and interests. Her love for flowers and gardening allowed her to create beautiful outdoor spaces that brought joy to all who visited. She also had a keen eye for interior decorating and delighted in transforming houses into warm and inviting homes.

Lori's memory will be forever cherished by her surviving family members: her mother, Mary Platt; her brother, Donald Platt Jr.; and her sister Cynthia Weaver (Tim). She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness and infectious smile.

To honor Lori's life, a visitation will be held at Liberty Baptist Church, July 19th from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Rev. Billy Robinson officiating. Burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery.

In this time of grief, it is important to remember the light that Lori brought into the lives of others. Her warm spirit and genuine kindness will never be forgotten. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her family and friends find solace in the memories they shared with her.
