Lucile R. Weaver, born May 1, 1930, passed away on November 1, 2026.
Lucile lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, her work, and her community. She graduated from Grand Canyon University in 1955 and went on to serve as an elementary school teacher for 46 years, a calling through which she touched the lives of generations of students. As a pastor’s wife, she also gave generously of herself in service to her church family, always finding joy in giving back to those around her.
She was a woman of many gifts and simple pleasures. Lucile enjoyed flowers and gardening, loved to cook, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed traveling. Through all the seasons of her life, family remained the center of her heart and the most important part of her life.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Leland Bruce Weaver (Darlene), Norma Holm, and Shawn Manlangit (Ruben); grandchildren, Bennett A Weaver, Leland G Weaver (Kara), Alexandra Sullivan (Thomas), Kristine Whitman (Kip), and Nancy Manlangit; great grandchildren, Madelyn, Bennett, Penelope, Anna, Lucy, Charlie, Conner, Jacob, Katie, and Addison; sisters, Nola Williams and Magnolia Edwards; a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett Weaver, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage; her parents, Elliott and Nancy Reed; her brother, Wallace Reed; her sisters, Tempress Fields, Azalene Reed, and Pearlie Byrd; and son-in-law, Tim Holm.
Family and friends will remember Lucile with love and gratitude for the steady, caring presence she brought to their lives, as well as for the faith, kindness, and dedication that defined her years.
