Fairford, Alabama

Lucy Weaver, born March 28, 1957, in Mobile, Alabama, passed away on September 2, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Lucy will be remembered as a caring and loving woman whose life was deeply centered on the people she loved most. She was the oldest daughter, a place in the family she carried with meaning, and she remained very family oriented throughout her life. Those who knew her will remember the warmth she brought to others and the steady love she shared so freely.

She found joy in simple and meaningful pleasures. Lucy enjoyed drawing, painting, reading, and drinking coffee on her front porch. These quiet pastimes reflected her gentle spirit and offered the kind of comfort and peace that she also gave to those around her.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Tatelyn Kelly, Lil Bud Grawet, Julie Grawet, Cole Grawet, and Jesse Grawet. She is also survived by her brothers, Lue Elbert Sullivan and Lue Elton Sullivan, and by her sisters, Arlene Humiston, Joerine Chestang, and Judy Rivers. In addition, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish her memory and carry her love with them.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, James Chestang; her daughter, Henerietta Grawet; her father and mother, Arthur and Flossie Sullivan; her sister, Ina Mae Sullivan; her brother, Arthur Lee Sullivan; and her sister, Loria Allo.
