Lurabelle Mae Rowell

Lurabelle Mae Rowell, a native of Indiana and longtime resident of Citronelle, Alabama passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Crowne Healthcare of Citronelle. She was 90 years old. Lurabelle was Office Manager for State Farm Insurance for many years and was a member of Citronelle First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She was president of the Citronelle Historical Society for a number of years. She was a loving mother and grandmother that loved unconditionally and always placed others above herself. She was a Godly mother, that sacrificed so much for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Edith Passwater; brother, Bill Passwater and his wife, Hilda; and sister, Mary Bryant.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Tommy Rowell (Marilyn) and Ronnie Rowell (Tanya); grandchildren, Ashley Rowell Malone (Dennis), Jason Rowell (Tasha), Blake Rowell (Missy), Taylor Rowell, Malia Rowell, and Bailey Rowell; eight great grandchildren, Tyler, AnnaMarie, Anleigh Jase, Anderson, Carsen, Elle, Weslyn, and Cohen; brothers, Jim Passwater (Callie), Ernie Passwater (Connie), and Don Passwater (Judy); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Friday, July 12, 2019, at New Home Baptist Church with Dr. Elbert Charpie, Rev. Marvin Robinson, Bro. Jeff Bryan, and Rev. Stan Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church for Caring Hands Ministry.
