Mallene Lowery McMullen, born on April 18, 1937, in Fayette, Alabama, peacefully departed this life on March 11, 2026, at Ashland Place Health and Rehabilitation. She lived a life full of grace, love, and devotion to her family and friends.

Mallene was the beloved mother of Karl McMullen (Patti) and Karen Lynch (Eric), a proud stepson, Jerry Threadgill, and a cherished grandmother to her three grandchildren: Jennifer Whiteside, Stephanie Downey, and David McMullen. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Jack, Lillie, Max, Andy, Lucy, and Ben, who were a source of immense joy for her.

She is survived by her brother, EJ Lowery, along with numerous other relatives and friends who will remember her fondly.

Mallene's life was marked by the enduring love of her first husband, Marion McMullen, and her second husband, Buddy Threadgill, who have predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Obera Lowery, her beloved sisters, Wylodene, Eulene, and Betty, as well as her stepdaughter, Elaine Threadgill.

A visitation in honor of Mallene will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Methodist Cemetery. 

Mallene Lowery McMullen will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
