Margaret "Reese" Therisia McDonald

Margaret Therisia ''Reese'' McDonald, a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Sunday night, January 15, 2023, at USA Health University Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. She was 82 years old.

Therisia was a devoted mother to her children and a devout member of Aldersgate UMC. She loved worshiping and singing the old Gospel hymns. She was a lifelong member of the Women's Society. She loved family gatherings and road trips with her family. You could find her on Friday and Saturday nights playing pedru till the late hours of the night. She worked and retired as a Mental health worker from Searcy Hospital after many years of service. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Therisia was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Clara Byrd; daughter, Peggy Cole; sister, Ella Byrd; and a special friend, Katie Lee Sullivan.

She is survived by her children, Pamela (Ricky) Frazier, Lynn (Perry) Lofton, Joe (Tammy) Cole, Brenda (Mack Jr.) Byrd, Sherri (Joe) Smith, Dunford (Brandy) Cole, and Clara Cole, (Leslie Trotter); brothers, Douglas (Billie) Byrd, Roland (Linda) Byrd, A.D. Byrd, and Nelson Byrd; 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 14 great- great-grandchildren; 3 very special friends, Viola Snow, Kathern Stanley, and Ellaween Weaver; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Nordstrom and Rev.
