Martha was a woman of many talents and passions. She was very crafty, with a particular fondness for sewing and quilting, skills that not only brought her joy but also created lasting memories for those who received her handmade treasures. A lover of the outdoors, she enjoyed traveling and camping, finding delight in the simple pleasures of swimming and sitting by the river. Fishing and watching wildlife were among her favorite ways to connect with nature, reflecting her deep appreciation for the world around her. Martha was also an avid reader, with a lifelong love of books that enriched her mind and spirit. Card games with her grandchildren brought her great happiness, creating bonds that will endure for generations.
The family left behind to honor Martha’s memory includes her devoted husband, Hiram “Roger” Harris, and her children: Melissa Driggers, Rebecca Elder, and Roger Harris, Jr. She took immense pride and joy in her grandchildren—Rachel Harris, Bethany Driggers, Jessica Danz (Christopher), Madeline Elder, William Elder (Bernadette), Bridget Harris, Lorena Harris, Katelyn Harris, Lathen Parten, and Rose Parten—and the eleven great-grandchildren who were the light of her later years. Martha is also survived by her sisters Brenda Powell, Debra Dingler, Tina Patterson, Patricia Booker, and Pam Hosford, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wiley Patterson; mother, Lillian Bennett; siblings Elsie Green, Mitchell Patterson, and David Patterson; and son-in-law, Johnny Driggers.
