Martha Lu Shirley, a beloved figure who embodied happiness, love, and caring, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 22, 1945, Martha lived a life rich with joy and devotion, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.

Throughout her life, Martha cultivated her passions for reading and gardening, finding solace and inspiration in the pages of books and the beauty of her garden. However, her greatest joy came from the time spent with her family. Martha was a proud mother, a devoted grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother. Her children, Billy E. Shirley, Jr. (Marsha), Tonda Shirley, Terri Shirley, and Toni Hart, along with her ten grandchildren, Tyler Hutto, Chase Hart, Billy Shirley III, Danielle Young, Nelson Shirley, Kylyn Shirley, Kameron Daniels, Brittleigh Daniels, Madison Shirley and Kade Shirley. Four great-grandchildren, Dalton, Kayson, Kambrie, and Kamiyah, meant the world to her and were her proudest accomplishments.

 She often spoke fondly of her late husband, Billy Shirley, Sr., with whom she shared 53 remarkable years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and unwavering love.

In addition to her family, Martha will be deeply missed by other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness. Her legacy of love, care, and happiness will continue to inspire those she leave behind, reminding us all of the beauty found in everyday moments shared with loved ones. Martha Lu Shirley leaves a heartwarming memory that will forever resonate in the lives of her family and friends.
